    3. Jan, I did not find William Braddy on the 1830 nor 1840 Edgecombe census. However, the 1840 census index on Ancestry.com shows a William Braddy in Johnston County. You might want to pursue that. I also looked on the N.C. marriage bond index and found three marriages with a William Braddy as groom: William J. Braddy to Elizabeth Andrews in Edgecombe County, 1849; William J. Braddy to Matilda Barber in Johnston, 1853; and William M. Braddy in Johnston, 1841. For some reason, no bride is listed in this last one. Hope this helps, Traci the Librarian ______________________________________________________ From: Binkschat@aol.com Hi all I'm trying to find the family of my MO Braddy family. In MO they are William married to Pearcy. The first 2/3 children were born in NC then 1 in TN and the rest in MO. I think I saw 'somewhere' a reference to Braddy's in Edgecombe NC and the given names of Wm's children were similar...Patrick, Joseph etc. Would any of you that have books on this area be willing to look up the surname and see if any are there. They were in MO by 1850 and prob not earlier than 1840.
