    3. Diane are you interested in knowing of graveyards that no longer exist? There was one across the road from Charlie Vann home on Ward Road but after he died, the gravestones were moved to a more public location. His wife who predeceased him by many years was buried there too. He had requested that his body never leaved the property but at the time he died, the undertaker said that in order to comply with the state laws on embalming, he had to take the body to his facility. As a second choice 3 men had an all night "wake" in the Vann home to be close to Cousin Charlie's wishes. My father was one of those who sat in the wake. We lived on the next farm. There was a black graveyard on our farm and in my lifetime, I knew of one buriel there. We always referred to that field as the "graveyard field" and when we had the property planted in trees, I believe that the one or two permanent markers were left there.
