Fran ______________________________________________ Samuel West, NC Militia, in Duplin who fought under Capt. Joseph Williams and Capt. Jabez Jarves for 31 days at the battle of Moore's Creek Bridge. For the 31 days tour he was paid 6/19/6 pounds. He drew militia voucher #2229 from the Wilmington District. On Aug. 1, 1782 he enlisted in Capt. Shepard's Com. of the NC 10th Regiment and was discharged June 11, 1783. West was credited with 18 months service. In the Price book Samuel is #90955 and is credited with $76.60.
