Looking for info on the WILLIAM CARROLL PLACE ? From the book " Carlton and Related Families" is the following information. The first of the Carltons known in Duplin was John Carlton and Thomas Carlton, who owned land in said county before 1790. Thomas Carlton died in 1795, and left a will recorded in Duplin county. He lived on the east side of Murrows or Pattys Branch, on the road leading from Magnolia to Carltons Chapel, at what was known as the WILLIAM CARROLL PLACE, and later owned by M.N.Johnson. He also owned land adjoining the Beasley Mill Pond, and he is probably buried on the CARROLL tract of land... My question is who was this WILLIAM CARROLL? Any help would be appreciated..
