    3. Hi, most of my information is from an article by Tom M. Bird in FOOTNOTES; In 1998 or 1999 there were two issues of Footnotes published by Duplin County Historical Society, Rose Hill, NC on "Henry McCulloh: Land Ventures in Duplin and Sampson Counties From 1738-1767." That article only states that in 1747 before leaving for England, Henry vested power of attorney in Alexander McCulloh, his cousin. Alexander lived most of his life in Halifax County. So, the father of Alexander is not known from my file. Have you seen the article by Bird? Among the land grantees were "three of Henry McCulloh's children: Henry Eustace McCulloh, James McCulloh, and Penelope McCulloh. Another grantee was Henry McCulloh's nephew, Dr. William Houston, one of Duplin's best known citizens." James stayed in Duplin County. "Jan. 12, 1774 a letter from Felix Kenan in NC to Henry Eustace McCulloh gave indication he was aware that father Henry McCulloh was "in health' and Henry Eustace's brother "Mr. James McCulloh and family is well He has got a daughter born" There is another version of James McCulloh's parents that as I understand is by: Pauline Craig Hughes (1826-1910). Family History on Barfield, Craig, Hughes, Mathews, McCulloh, Steveson, Taylor, written in 1908. Hope this helps.
