    3. Hi all, I would like to ask for all African American researchers to please share your information to be posted on the site. I have various researchers contacting me requesting information but I have no idea who all is researching African Americans or who has information. I have added some links that I have found to the site, but I really need your help! So, if you have a website you would like to have listed on the site, or family information to add I will build a page to add it. Anything you would like to share would be a great resource for other researchers. I realize it is very hard to trace African Americans during and before the Civil War, so I will need your help so that I can post information and resources to help everyone to research their family trees. So, come on, let's get some valuable African American Resources on the Duplin site! Thanks and Happy Hunting! 3. Hi, I am working on several African American families with the surname Pearsall. Iley White Pearsall was born in Magnolia. In the 1870 census reflected as mulatto. Iley believed to be the son of an Ann Blackmore. Iley married on 19 Nov 1885, Edith Roberts, dau of Moses Roberts of Wayne Co, NC. Marriage record to Edith reflects both colored. His parents were left blank. Iley left a large family in the Faison area, went to NYC, there in 1910 census. Iley married a Swedish lady, Signe Ostergren, and had a son Dixon Pearsall born in 1914. It is not known if he ever returned to NC to live but he and Edith had 11 children: Oscar W. Pearsall, James Bryant Pearsall, John Henry Pearsall, Moses M. Pearsall, Iley Julius Pearsall, Edith Ann Pearsall, David Benjamin Pearsall, Mary S. Pearsall, Samuel Alton Pearsall, Herbert L. Pearsall and Robert L. Pearsall. Edith died in Mt. Olive on 11 Jul 1934. I have other info to go with all this. Hope to ascertain the parentage of Iley Pearsall and to contact descendants. S.
