Hi Myra, Is the Matthew Miles Jones mention below the S/o of Elisha & Catherine Winders Jones, b ca 1806 ? If so could you help update some in that line, I have his brother Joel as going to to Choctaw Co., Al & lived with James & Cealy Slone Grimes. letter # 66 (Letters can be found on Duplin Co. Archives page) 1844: Letter dated January 1 of this year, to Jesse Grimes from William Grimes: "Joel Jones left Duplin a few days before I arrive there last [1843] spring, with the portion of his fathers property that fell to him and Matthew [Jones his brother] and came to Sumter County where they both had been living. Joel and t[w]o of his negroes lived with brother James and died very suddenly, 28th October, returning from watering his horse, laid down by the way and died, and was found immediately. Rosanna can tell you about James and his children. She will tell you what kind of weather we had while gone to Godfrey's, but she will fail in a description of the road. Not being disposed to trouble you with a long epistle, I stop here and ask forgiveness for not witting more." Also do you know the parents of Charity Grimes who married John Jones, brother of Joel & Matthew? The way my line fits in is that Catherine Winders was a sister to my direct line of Sarah Winders that m James Grimes, who was a son of Hugh Grimes of Duplin Co., NC. Thanks for any help or updates Christine Grimes Thacker In a message dated 3/5/2008 9:20:44 P.M. I do not have a Selah or Sealy Summerlin in my database even though I was a Summerlin. I have about 300 in my Williams database. Who are you looking for?
