    3. You've touched on some very important points, Donna D. It is a frustrating situation. On the one hand, Dr. Herring's collection needs to be maintained and, of course, funds are necessary for that. On the other hand, folks are eager to obtain further information about families of interest and will usually share what they have managed to collect from various sources, including the Leslie Brown cards, either through email, snail mail or posting snippets to family trees that are on-line. Apparently, Dr. Herring's collection is owned by the Board, including the Leslie Brown cards. If I understand it correctly, the information on those cards is not owned by the Board. That is a key issue and hopefully will be addressed by someone expert in copyright law, etc. In the interim, could we focus on an amicable resolution? For example, is there a way to get segments of the Leslie Brown data onto cd's for sale at reasonable prices, with a portion of each sale designated to be used to keep the library intact and functioning? I'm sure others of you have much better ideas. I do hope that all concerned will work toward a solution that will benefit us all.
