    1. Re: [NCDUPLIN] NCDUPLIN Digest, Vol 3, Issue 85
    2. Diane, Your note of today wins by a landslide! That was how this should have been handled. The Foundation &/or members should have contacted you privately instead of using this List for their airing of grievances - that was very poorly, impolitely done! Thank you for trying to further all research of so many, concerning all those NC counties List for which you spend so much of your time! I would hope the Foundation would be more responsive to people inquiring about information contained in the Library - as we all know that so many do not have the extra time nor resources to delve deeply into research on families until their later years - which can also be a limiting factor in their travel to sites - our world of research has changed so greatly since I have been doing genealogy & will do so even more rapidly now as we have already seen from the advent of the Internet less than some 15 yrs ago - with it being available to private citizens now rather than just the Universities, etc, as it was. If the Foundation can't adapt to these changing times, the risk to the infor-mation will be to make it available only to those who might possibly be able to travel to the site on a specific day & time - or that it will only be available to those who are geographically closer to the Library. In either of those cases, the information will only be exposed to the few rather than to the many it would seem Dr. Herring might have meant for it to be. Getting back on subject - Women's History Month: My contribution to Women's History Month will be to include the fact that in many accounts, it is not shown that Elizabeth (HOLLINGSWORTH) was the 1st wife of John CARROLL. She was not shown in J. Adger Stewart's book on the descendants of Valentine Hollingsworth. I have an approx date of birth which Jackie P. has shared w/me, as she has the sister, Ann "Nancy" (HOLLINGSWORTH) who mar John CARROLL after Elizabeth died, sometime aft. March 1801 when hers & John CARROLL's son, James CARROLL was born. Thank you, Diane - for all! Sarah **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance.
