He married 1st.Catherine Peterson, They were living in Duplin Co, NC out from Wallace towards Willard in 1860. In 1866 he married my Grandmother Mary Matilda Rich from the Taylors Bridge area. From 1870 until he died he was in Sampson County. Before this I have not a clue about him. He had brothers DAVID MATHIS That Married Margaret Peterson, Isaiah Mathis that married Charity Peterson. All three ladies were Sisters. from lower Sampson Co. Jonah and his 2 Brothers were in the confederacy. Then I have a CHARLOTTE (LOTTIE) MATTHEWS Who was from Taylors Bridge area.....She was the Mother of The MARY MATILDA listed above. She married Richard Rich.
