Cheryl, There is nothing at all in my books for Jeremiah or Moses in Duplin Abstracts (only Andrew, Hermon, Nedham, Uriah and Widow). In the very early Provinces abstracts I find only John and John, Jr. (1727 in Bertie County) and although there are lots of Basses in the North Carolina Taxpayers in the late 1700s, there is nothing on your two. The only tiny mention I can find is in the Bladen County Abstracts: page 326: N. C., Bladen County: William Shinglton & wife Mary doth sell in open market to Robert Sims, 100A on the Raft Swamp where Moses Bas (?) old Mill was as so called........12 Nov 1766, for L 10 proc. money........William Shinglton (Seal), Mary Shinglton (Seal), Wit: John Jones. Prov. by John Jones, Nov. 24 1772, M. Moore. Note: this is copied exactly as written) Dee
