Hi John, so far i have not connected this family to our line, it is just that some of my line and that line were in the same places together, and i have been trying to connect them as cousins, there was a Jesse that died ca 1815/1818 in Greene Co.,Ga, (Jesse Grimes a cousin of my Stephen Grimes, was in Greene Co ,Ga had a son Albert Calvin born there,albert died at the Almo 1836, Jesse was a signer of the Texas indepence) this Jesse later went to Washington Co.,Al his brother Wm Sampson Grimes also went to Washington Co. Jesee left for Tx ca1827/28 wm S went to Tx ca 1859. They were the sons of Sampsom Grimes of Duplin Cop.,NC, who was the son of Hugh Grimes, Hugh was b in Va, ca 1715 son of Walter Grimes, My line is that of James Grimes ,he married Sarah Winders had sons Wm(married Mary ? died 1837 Stewart Co Ga, do not have his Children names know that in 1830 he had 5 boys 5 Girls) John Grimes m Catherine Frederick, he died 1837 Stewart Co, have most of the info on him , Catherine and children went to Coffee Co, I think all of the sons stayed in Coffee co,Al Catherine went to Texas with Isaac & Thomas. son of James, Isaac m Sarah Wilkinson have the info on this family they went to Rusk, Cherokee Co,Tx ca1853, same with Thomas he married Lettice Kornegay 1st, she died ca 1820's in Ga, he married 2nd Jane Frederick, he died in Tx, do not know what happen to his sons Marshell, George Key, Christopher, there is paper work where they were in Cherokee Co., but do not know when they died or the rest of the family??IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON THIS FAMILY PLEASE LET ME KNOW, son of James , Lewis bca 1778, m Hetty Glisson, was in Stewart Co, Later outside of Richland Ga, do not have info on 1 son and 2 Dau's, Bryan went to Marango Co.,Al ca1839, than my line is STEPHEN b ca1799 m BETHANY Hines, 2 sons died in the Civil War, one son Henry B had children and most went to Brandon ,Hill Co.,Tx., than spread out from there.Most of the Dau's as far as i know stayed in or around Dale Co.,Al. Charlotte a Dau of Stephen had son Wm Augustas Grimes, We do not know who the Brothers of Hugh Grimes were some could have stayed in Va, and that is why we have been trying to connect the Va, Grimes and N.C. Grimes, some of Hugh's grandson's may have gone to S.C. also.
