    1. Letter of 1962
    2. Hi All, i have a copy of a letter that was written April 3,1962 to Mrs M.W. (Georgiann) Grimes (Georgiann was the dau of Henry Edwin Grimes and Altie Myra Nelson) the letter was sent from Goldsboro,N.C. This may be a little long, but i think maybe this may get to someone that has futher info on some of the names that may be mention, There is one name that Hugh Grimes of Houma,La has come across in the late 1700's and feels like this name might have been a son of Hugh Grimes of Duplin Co., NC,but the name never came about again in NC until this letter ,the name being JUNIUS Grimes. PLEASE if anyone has any info let us know. Thank you. Dear Mrs Armistead, I am forwarding your letter to Mr JUNE Grimes, Washington,N.C. whom i believe will be able to give you the Information you desire. I have been very unsucessful in tracing my family tree, having been able to go only as far back as my Ggrandparents, Hezekiah and Rebecca Grimes. There seems to be two sets of Grimes's around Goldboro, and after talking with members of both families, I believe the Grimes's at Washington N.C. are the ones you are looking for. If Mr. JUNE Grimes is unable to help you, let me know and I will help you contact Grimes families in other cities. Please let me know if you find out anything, Particularly if you find out anything that ties in with my Grandparents. Sincerely Yours, JIMMIE GRIMES From JUNIUS D.GRIMES Attorney At Law 111 East Second Street Washington ,N.C. April 18, 1962 To Mrs M.W. Armistead ( now deceased) 1999 Box 624 Fort Stoctton, Tx. Dear Mrs Armistead: Jimmie Grimes of Goldsboro, N.C. forwared me your letter of March 26,for reply. I am a decendant of WILLIAM Grimes of Norfolk,Va. and have what i consider a complete family record of his branch of the family. I have gone through it and think i have some information that i think will be of interest to you. Ever since recieving your letter ,i have been rather busy, and unable to take the time to give you the information which i wanted and at this time i am getting ready to go out of town so will be unable to give it to you now. I will let you hear from me as soon as i return and can possibly give you some information about the family.(there is not a letter in Georgiann's papers from this JUNIUS, to bad it might have what we needed to connect that Wm to the HUGH Grimes of Duplin Co.,N.C,) I am not acquanted with Jimmie Grimes of Goldsboro, but am glad to know about him. Yours Very Truly JUNIUS D. GRIMES Jr.
