I am seeking information on Menoah CRAIS who served in the Rev. War from Wilkes Co, NC. This is what I have: MENOAH CRAIS -- 175 -- NC--Rev. Found in NC Library, Chapel Hill---Return of the Aids and Volunteers from Wilkes Co NC, Jan 19, 1779, received his bounty of ______ NATIONAL UNION CATALOG 1958-19V.2, P 126-- 53-179-----Register of additional locations says held in Iowa State Univ. of Science and Technology. (We wrote to Iowa State and got this info.) I have been to Wilkes Co Courthouse and Menoah left no paper trail in that county, if he was ever there. Can anyone shed some light on this elusive individual? Or give me a new direction. I wrote to NARA in Washington and they have no records on him.
