    3. Hope to correspond with anyone researching or having info on the "nest" of BUTLERs who lived in the Cypress Creek area of SE Duplin about 1790s to 1860s. Have names of Thomas, Christopher, Hezekiah, Frederick, Elias, James, Jacob, and my g-g-grandfather Elijah, who during those years had their names on deeds to the same 80 acre tract on Watering Hole Branch/ Roundabout Branch, waters of Cypress Creek. Have not been able to determine relationship between these but believe Thomas to be the eldest then Christopher to be Thomas' son, but from there on it's just a wild guess. Another mystery: On current DeLorme NC county map, the road running S from Cypress Creek community in Duplin to Maple Hill in Pender is shown as "Blacksmith Shop Road". Signs say "Cypress Creek Rd" and those I talked to in the area had never heard it called anything else. My Elijah, and one of his sons, were blacksmiths, and I have visions of finding their old shop along that road <grin>. DeLorme makes some road name mistakes but this is too much of a coincidence for me to let go of it. Does anyone have access to Road Jury records or early Duplin/New Hanover records which might shed some light on this? Charlie Weaver, Winston-Salem, NC
