Can someone do a lookup for Walter Mathis b. 1896, mother unknown, she died when he was 4 years old. Walter's father was said to be a white WELLS. He had a sister name Hattie Mathis m. Abe, Sr., they had 4 children Abe, jr., Thomas, Martha and Edna. She died and he later moved to NY along with some of the children and that's the last contact my grandfather had with her children. Walter m. Lottie McLamb in Sampson co. and he died in 1982, Lottie died in 1978 In Wayne Co. Walter and Lottie m June 16, 1916. He and his sister were raised by two aunts: Rhodia and Mattie Mathis of Duplin co. Children born to them were: Irene, Pauline, Ruby, Walter Jr., William D., Lorene and Thelma.
