My gg grandfather, James Ritchie was born before 1775 in N.C. James Ritchie and Anthony Ritchie were both granted land in Williamsburg S.C. in 1791. In 1823 James sells his land and that of Anthony Ritchie Sr. and moves to Al. I found land deeds in Duplin Co. from 1764 - 1794 with both names, James and Anthony Ritchie either selling or as witnesses. Would like any info on these N.C. Ritchies. James married the second time to Ann Holmes. Children are- Thomas B. Ritchie, James Uriah Ritchie (my g grandfather), Ann Ritchie, Nancy Ritchie Owens, Rebecca Ritchie, Tabitha Ritchie Carnest, Caroline E. Holmes Peters (wife's daughter). Also who was James first wife. Think she may have married a James Coachman.
