    3. Marie, Thank you for the suggestion, I'll look into the DARROCH's. I now have have seen this surname spelled DUARK, DUACH, DUACKS and DUCK. Soundex searches produce the names, DICK, DARK, DUKE, etc. I know that they were in Duplin and Sampson Co. (census, wills and court minutes, see below). If anyone recognizes any of the names, (especially the CAMERON's) please let me know. Donna Duplin Co. wills: William DUACKS 1782 will. Will Book A/132. Copy located in the archive. Names: Mary Jane, Presley, William, Robert, Celia, Rhoda, Henry, Elizabeth, Nannie and Sarah CAMERON. DUARK ORPHAN: Ordered that Charles King sell a house, the property of Henry Duark, an orphan boy who is bound as an apprentice to said King, and that he account for the money with said Duark. DUARK ESTATE: Ordered that William King, Barnabas Stevens and James Blackman be a committee to divide the estate of Nancy Duark, deceased, who was a minor child, agreeable to the last will and testament of Magdalene Duark, deceased, and that they report their proceedings to the next court. (1794 Sampson Co. CM ) DUARK ESTATE: The committee appointed to divide the estate of Nancy Duark, deceased, among her lawful representatives, report as follows: That after deducting out 8 pounds and 16 shillings which we allowed Isaac Cameron for an account he rendered in against her estate, the residue of the estate amounting to 27 pounds, 9 shillings and 4 1/2 pence. That the sum divided among her heirs makes each share 3 pounds, 9 shillings and 4 1/4 pence. Signed Thomas Sutton, William King and James Blackman. DUACK'S SCHOOLING: Henry Duack came into court and acknowledged that Charles King had fully satisfied him as to his trade and schooling. Page 45, Bk 5, Sampson-Duplin Deeds, page 23. Deed: William Ball to Phillip Alexander Cammerone. Dated: 16 January 1775. Trans.: 35 pounds for 96 acres "On the Head of Hoe swamp Beginning at Wells Corner." Deed mentions Alwell's line. Land was granted to Simon West by patent dated 16 April 1765. Wit.: Jesse McIndon and Joseph Joiner. (James Samson was Clerk of Court. Richard Clinton was Register.) Page 127,Deed Bk 9, Sampson County Deeds, page 131: Benjaman Atwell to Life (Lise?) Let (lett) Atwell Dated: 3 May 1792. Trans.: (amount of payment not given) for 235 acres "on the west side of the six Runs and on both sides of Hoe swamp and all the ramainder of my goods and Chattles House Hold stuff and all other of my substance Whatsoever in whose hands or Custody possession or Keeping soever the same are or can or may be found only my wife Mary Atwell to Have peaceable possession On the lands and living her lifetime." Wit.: Phillip Camaron, Susanna Camaron, and William Fellow. (Notes: Document makes reference to the State of North Carolina. Owen Holmes was Register of Deeds. Document was proven or acknowledged in May Court of 1792. Document was registered 19 May 1793. Hardy Holmes was Clerk of Court.) Deed Issac Camaron to Thomas Thomas (of Wayne County). Deed dated 31 Jan 1787, page 276, book 8 - land on great Cohary. Wit: Robert Duval and Phillip Camaron. entry No.99. Jan. 21, 1778Isaac Camron enters 300 ac on Six Runs Cr and Hoes Swamp; border: Wm Lee, Phill Camron, & Benjamin Mills. On page 39 is entry No. 592. Jan. 20, 1779 Philip A Cammaran enters 100 ac on W side of Hoes Swamp;border: his own line, Isaac Cammaran's new entry, & Benjamin Atwell. page 72 entry 1105. (still Duplin Co.) Oct. 21, 1779 Benjn Atwell enters 100 ac; border: Isaac Camron's (sic) corner and Phillip Alexander Cameron. page 79 entry 1210. Dec. 29, 1779 Philip A.
