I am trying so hard to find the parents of my gr-gr-grandfather, Murphy Lanier. He was born in Duplin County, "near Magnolia," in 1805. He was married early on to someone whose name is lost. He later married Temperance Carlton, daughter of Hardy Carlton--all those Carltons of Duplin County. Murphy's full name was: Thomas Murphy Lanier. Many thanks! Katherine Lanier Ricker
