Malcom, My first cousin, 3 times removed, Susan Ann Barbre, daughter of Allen Barbrey and Rhoda Ann Smith, married Ollen Royall, son of Biggers Royall and Ann in Jan, 1840. They had 8 children. I do not know all that much about this family (Royall) but a lot about Barbres. Pat On Feb 20, 2008, at 6:39 PM, Malcom Strickland wrote: > Anybody doing research on the Royals from Sampson Co., NC. Hi Diane, Thanks for a great job. I am researching surnames BULLARD and STROUD and especially interested in learning what happened to some pre 1800 BULLARD daughters. I suspect they married into neighborhood families who lived in north Duplin County between 1760 and 1800. Neighbors included OUTLAW, GRIMES, WRIGHT, SULLIVAN, HERRING, WESTON,GAVIN and STROUD. Hi, I am working on several African American families with the surname Pearsall. Iley White Pearsall was born in Magnolia. In the 1870 census reflected as mulatto. Iley believed to be the son of an Ann Blackmore. Iley married on 19 Nov 1885, Edith Roberts, dau of Moses Roberts of Wayne Co, NC. Marriage record to Edith reflects both colored. His parents were left blank. Iley left a large family in the Faison area, went to NYC, there in 1910 census. Iley married a Swedish lady, Signe Ostergren, and had a son Dixon Pearsall born in 1914. It is not known if he ever returned to NC to live but he and Edith had 11 children: Oscar W. Pearsall, James Bryant Pearsall, John Henry Pearsall, Moses M. Pearsall, Iley Julius Pearsall, Edith Ann Pearsall, David Benjamin Pearsall, Mary S. Pearsall, Samuel Alton Pearsall, Herbert L. Pearsall and Robert L. Pearsall. Edith died in Mt. Olive on 11 Jul 1934. I have other info to go with all this. Hope to ascertain the parentage of Iley Pearsall and to contact descendants. S. Alice, If the surnames were in Duplin before Sampson County split from it you can definitely send them in. I don't think Denise is posting surnames to the Sampson site, but since the counties are so intertwined it won't be a problem to post them on Duplin. Hi all, When sending in your surnames (or anything else to be posted to the sites) if your name is not on the email or in the From section of the email I have no idea who you are unless I have emailed with you quite a bit in the past. So, please, include your first and last name when you send me your surnames (or other contributions) so that I can go ahead and post them.
