    3. Hi Diane! I would love to see what info there is on the Brock surname. I believe there are 32 cards. So I will understand why they can't be transcribed first...... Thanks! 3. Hi all, I have someone that is willing to go and make copies of family cards. Please send me any special requests you have and we will work on getting copies and getting them transcribed. I will need extra people to help get the records transcribed also. If we have a huge response it may take time to get everything that is requested, so we will be getting a few at a time. We also have to pay for copies, so again, we will get a few at a time. I have offered to help cover some of the costs of getting these records. I will make a list of all of the requests and we will get copies and get them transcribed as quickly as possible, so please bare with us during this. It won't be an overnight thing to get the copies and get them up online. Some files have a lot of pages and will require some time to get them transcribed. So if yours don't appear on the site right away, have patience and know that we will work as quickly as we can to get them copied, transcribed and online. So, send me what cards you would like to get copies of, (remember the surnames that are in the card files are on the site, along with the amount of cards for each name, to help you see if they are large they will take more time) and I will make a list and we will get copies as quickly as we can. If you would like to help transcribe the cards as we get copies please let me know and I will send you the cards as they come to me for transcribing. A couple of our transcribers are out and another is down with an injury so we need extra help. Also, make sure your email is set up to receive attachments they will be sent in .JPG format. Anyone that has not transcribed for me before, you have to type everything EXACTLY as it is written. Do not correct spelling errors, dates, names, or anything else. They are to be typed up into word EXACTLY as they are written on the originals. You can however put them in order by date. So, go ahead and start sending me your surnames that you would like to get copies of, and if you would like to help us transcribe the cards as we get them. Thanks! 2. Mike & Diane
    3. Hi all, I have a brick wall and I am hoping someone can help me out. I am looking for information on William Enoch Duff born 1800 in NC. I would love to find out who his parents were so hopefully I can trace this line further. The last record I have of him is in 1870 Union, New Hanover Co. Census living with his sons Nicholas and David. William is a widower, blind and 70 years old. I cannot find William Enoch or Nicholas after the 1870 census and David died in 1880 in Onslow Co. William Enoch married Elizabeth Ann Fussell and had the following children: William I Duff b 1840 Duplin Co. Benjamin Duff b 1842 Duplin Co Riley Duff b 1845 Duplin Co John T Duff b Nov 11, 1846 (my direct line) William Enoch then married Nancy MNU and they had the following children: Nicholas Duff b 1849 Duplin Co Solomon Duff b 1850 Duplin Co Narcissa Duff b 1851 Duplin Co Charity Duff b 1853 Duplin Co David Duff b 1853 Duplin Co If anyone has any info on any of these Duff's or can direct me where to find info on William Enoch Duff I would appreciate it very much! 1. [NCDUPLIN] Brick Wall broken!
    2. Mike & Diane
    3. Hi all, I wanted to say congratulations to Jason Bordeaux for being able to find information to break down one of his brick walls today. Carrie Rowe was able to give him some information and he found a will on the New Hanover site as the proof in helping with it. So, come on researchers, keep it up, trading info with others is the only way to break down those walls and find new information! Way to go Jason! 3. Nancy, I don't think digital photos would turn out that well of typed records. We will need to get paper copies to make sure everything is gotten and transcribed correctly. I tried taking digitals of some obituaries once and when I got home and loaded them on the computer they were virtually unreadable. I would rather be safe than sorry. I am going to try my best to get down there in the next couple of weeks and start copying files. Hopefully we will get someone that lives there to do the same. Let me see what I can get going, and please if anyone is making a trip to Duplin, please consider making some copies of the cards for everyone. Thanks! I live too far away but would certainly type up any pictures sent to me. That would save paper but would take time and effort from someone to photo and email them. I'd dearly like to see: Barfield, 57 McCullen, 1 McCulloch, 5 McCullock, 1 McCulloh, 16 Tayler, 1 Taylor, 37 Plus others! I'd be happy to type any in order if you want to be systematic about it too. Would this work? Nancy Prouty Hi all, We are really starting to get a collection of the Leslie Brown cards Transcribed and online: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncduplin/lesliebrownindexcards.htm These records cover Delaware River ValleyTidewater Virginia and the Albemarle region of North Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina and in Savannah, Georgia. His research thus covered the eastern seaboard from Philadelphia to Savannah. His work was thorough, meticulous and Conscientious. The collection contains the antecedents of a great many Cape Fear families as well as clues to the whereabouts of many of their Descendents. If you have any of these cards in your papers, please consider transcribing Them or sending me copies so that we can add them to the collection for Other researchers to utilize. They are a great resource of information for everyone and we hope to get Most if not all of them transcribed and posted online for everyone. Thanks and Happy Hunting! 3. Is it possible for someone who lives in the area to take readable pictures with a digital camera of these cards? 1. [NCDUPLIN] Will Transcribe cards for WILKINS surname
    2. Fran Salyers
    3. I'm in Kentucky, but I'd be glad to transcribe cards related to WILKINS if sombody can send copies to me. I saw some cards (at least I think I saw what we're talking about) when I visited the Herring library back in October. If somebody wants to make copies, I'll be glad to cover the cost and then do transcriptions from the copies. Just let me know how much to send, where to send it, and to whom to make the check payable. The people I believe to be my Wilkins ancestors left Duplin around 1800, so my ties there were a l-o-n-g time ago. Even so, I've developed a real fondness for that area, especially after visiting. I'd like nothing better than to hear from other Duplin Wilkins descendents. Thanks.
