Celia Rogers was the daughter of Thomas Rogers and Elizabeth ??? Thomas was born circa 1730 Westerly, Washington Co Ri and died 1782 in Duplin Co NC. The above citation was sent to me by a correspondent, Duplin researcher. Any information on Celia ROGERS and her parents is appreciated. What was Elizabeth's maiden name? TIA Fran
I don't know if this will help you or not. Sometimes the census on Ancestry.com is very hard to read, so I print out the section I am interested in with colored paper. Green or yellow is good. It sometimes brings out the print better, just enough to make out a word. Perhaps if you copy the cards and experiment with different colored paper it might help you. Hi all, A while back someone sent a link through the list for the online version of the Duplin newspapers. Somehow I have lost the link. Can someone please send me the link again? Thanks! One thing for sure...you're organized! It may not be as easy when Michael starts pre-school....and your husband, Mike, must be mighty understanding of your passion for genealogy. You just have so much to be responsible for on these boards...take some time for yourself and enjoy life outside the house.....and I don't see any typos, so Samantha is doing a good job at keeping those little fingers away from the keyboard! Betty (grandmother of 3 little girls: 5,3, and 4 months.....there is no way my daughter could get done what you are doing...there is always something going on in the house or she's busy with carpooling and a few after school activities.....) Diane, You do a Great job ! We - all of us -- are truley blessed that you are doing such a wonderful job for us & for these web sites. Thank you ! You have the two most important things there are -- a loving wife & Mommy. So, the fact that you do a great job for us all, we understand that you have other areas as well as your health to take care of. LOL...The kids are still here. Most of the time Samantha is sitting right here in my lap jabbering or helping me type (the reason for so many typos!) or nursing and snoozing. She is a Mama's girl and doesn't like to be very far away from me. Michael likes to play with all of his cars and trucks and watch cartoons when he isn't eating. They are both very good, and believe it or not I do take a lot of breaks from posting info. I do get most of it done when they are napping or after Mike comes home from work and at night when everyone is sleeping. I feel like I neglected the sites and everyone when I was down so long when my back was so bad, but now that it has gotten where I can sit here I like to try and get as much info as possible posted. I feel like I am so far behind on getting all of the stuff I have stock piled transcribed and posted. At least I am keeping up with what everyone is sending in. As long as some of the transcribers don't burn out on me we will trudge through all these piles of info that need to be transcribed and posted. I have at least a years worth of info to keep a team of 100+ transcribers working 8 or more hours a day 7 days a week! I have had to give up transcribing and just concentrate on posting and keeping things active. And this isn't counting the Leslie Brown cards and other things that come in so there will constantly be new goodies being added to the site. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncduplin/duplin.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgreene/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncjones/jones.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~nclenoir/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncnewhan/nh.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncpasqu2/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncpender/pender.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncperqu2/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncmil/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~mocivwar/mocwindex.html -------Original Message------- From: Betty Rose Date: 2/23/2008 12:15:34 AM To: ncduplin@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NCDUPLIN] Leslie Brown Index Cards Lordy, YES! Me again! : ) I have everyone's requests for the Leslie Brown cards that have been sent in so far. As soon as I receive them I will be sending them out to the ones that have volunteered to help transcribe them. I will try my best to send you the ones you have requested, but if I don't have them at that time I may send you another surname to work on in the meantime.
