Interested in talking with anyone connected to the Robert GROVES surname in the 1700's Isle of Wight. I am seeking a Robert Groves( and his ancestors ) connection to Halifax County, North Carolina about 1760, and Duplin County in 1792. His brothers could have been Allen Groves, Joseph or John Groves. Donna, believe it or not that is the "name" of an actual deed book used by the Duplin County Recorder of Deeds! In fact, many of our Daniel WEST descendants's deeds are found in that book. Very strange, indeed, but I have made many photocopies from Duplin County, DB 1-5-10-14-15---not sure the dashes are within the deed book citations---just don't remember. Hi all, Just a heads up for you... Dallas herring's library is supposed to be open Wednesday so we can go and get copies of the cards for all of us. As soon as they are gotten and sent to me I will let you know, as well as which cards we were able to get. The library is supposed to be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays from 2-5 PM. We will try and get in there as much as possible to get copies of all of the cards that were requested so we can get them transcribed and online. As soon as I get the copies I will send an email to the list as well as start sending you copies of them to transcribe. Thanks for your patience in getting all of this going! Hi all, I am currently looking for more transcribers. I have some African American records, deeds, marriage records, Civil War info and various other things that need to be transcribed. This is not counting the Leslie Brown cards that we will soon be working on, with the people that have volunteered to help with those! : ) I have 6 full time transcribers and 3 part time transcribers (that transcribe various records) for Duplin as well as transcribers from other counties that are working on various things, but we still need more help. If you would like to help us transcribe some of the information that I have stock piled for the site I would certainly appreciate it! If you are interested please let me know and I will get you started. Thanks! Sometimes the census on Ancestry.com is very hard to read, so I print out the section I am Interested in with colored paper. Green or yellow is good. It sometimes Brings out the print better, just enough to make out a word. Perhaps if you Copy the cards and experiment with different colored paper it might help You. Good luck, Jerry Vernon ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike & Diane" <garebel@embarqmail.com> To: <ncduplin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 22, 2008 9:04 PM Subject: Re: [NCDUPLIN] Quinn Family cards > P.S.
