Looking for information about "Jasa" Ezell who married Sarah Patterson in Nov 1833. On same day, Wm Ezell married Arebeco Patterson-brothers marrying sisters?? Want to know if this "Jasa" is actually James Ezell, as in James Parham Ezell? Cannot find any census listing for "Jasa" and thought that perhaps it (James)was his legal name-to be used on legal papers, but not his given name- to be named in census records. I have found Parham or Parm (Palm) listed in the 1840 and 1850 census records. Let me know what you think. I cannot find another record of an Ezell marrying a Sarah in 1833 and research I have gives Parham's wife's name as Sarah and marriage yr as 1833. Appreciate any help with this. Sherri
I plan to be in the Duplin County area next month and would like information on locations to look at records of early settlers. Some of my early family lived in the area and I would like to locate records concerning them. Anyone with information as to hours and days opened will be appreciated. Lewis N. Houston
I'm searching for information concerning one Jennie WHALEY (b. Aug 24, 1847 d. Aug 24, 1929), daughter of Sam WHALEY of Duplin Co. Her death certificate lists only her father's name and states she was born in Kenansville. She married Jonathon Hill BASDEN, Sr. of Onslow/Jones county. I know of only one child, Jonathon Hill BASDEN, Jr., m. Mary A. DAWSON. I'd love to hear from anyone with information on any of these folks. Thanks! In a message dated 7/8/99 5:32:50 AM Eastern Daylight Time, NCDUPLIN-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << If anyone has a great backup strategy for a 10 gig hard drive...I'd love to hear. >> This reply was prepared for Mary Drake, but others may have an interest. I also have a multi-gig drive, but in addition I use a second multi-gig drive for my data. One drive, the "Master" (C:\) houses the programs, and the second drive, the "slave" (D:\) is used as a data storage drive. All of my data files are set up in directories on the D:\ drive. If ever something goes wrong on C:\, it is most probable that the data stored on D:\ will not be affected. This arrangement also aids and abets the all-important "BACK-UP" of data files. I have an internal tape back-up system installed in one of my slots. The tape back-up will handle up to 6.5 gigs on a single tape. I frequently back-up the D:\ (data) drive, but infrequently bother with C:\ since I can always reinstall as I have the installation software. Neither item of hardware costs very much. Prices vary, but I estimate $350 to $450 for both products combined. I sleep better at night by having this arrangement. Bill Linder Arlington, Virginia
As some of you know, we have been given custody of two of my husband's grandchildren recently which has required a lot of adjustment. The most traumatic was the loss of my office to make a bedroom. This is worked out and I have my office back. HOWEVER>>>>when I moved back into my office and reconnected my computer, Outlook Express where I do all my Email and file all your data and messages wrote an old backup file that I didn't know existed over my current data and what I have lost is: Queries posted after July 2 and before July 4. All unanswered mail. And the Worse.... any data sent to me after April 4th that has not been posted to the pages. This includes data from many people. The ones I remember this minute are, Lydia Sides, Ben Askew, Barbara Shore, Skippy Davis, Pauline Pierce and there are several more that my frustrated brain can't recall at the moment. If you can resend to me, I will greatly appreciate it. And I am alone this week and can go on a catch-up marathon. If anyone has a great backup strategy for a 10 gig hard drive...I'd love to hear. You all are so great about sending data that we have some of the very best county pages in the USGenWeb system. I am sorry to cause inconvenience because I really, really appreciate what you do. Yes, you can download in mime. All you have to do is change the file extension from .mim to .txt Then just download. I usually put mine on a floppy disk so I can open it later. Connie

Even with this info i cannot connect my JOEL HINES with this line ,a sister of James Susan m Wm Gully, who may have been a nephew of Patience Gully Hines wife of JOEL HINES, i think JOel's father may have been Issac Hines ,he was the only Hines in Lenoir co, than there was a Frederick, and a Daniel Hines, Someone has to have info on this JOEL HInes somewhere HELP. I will put what i found on James M Hines and hope that someone will put what they have on JOEL HINES, i have the Hines from the 1850/60 census, and some of them had married into the Sutton family. Wait said Willis drowned in Neuse River near White Hall, WFT vol9 #569, said Willis was from Wayne Co.,?? but that their source came from the Family Bible and a Luticia Lee of Sanford ,Fl . Has the Bible. I do not know when this was put into the WFT. So Please do a little more searching .
