Hello, There was a Joel Rogers who married Mary Screws in Duplin Co. in 1797. The marriage bond was signed by John X. Rogers and witnessed by William Dickson. I was wondering if anyone out there might know anything about this Joel Rogers and who his children were. It shows on the 1800 census that he has 2 sons under 10 and I am very interested to find out what their names were. If anyone knows where I might be able to go to find that out, or if someone might be able to look the information up for me (i.e. through a Will or anything), I would be very greatful. Im looking for any Rogers who might have has a son named Joel and a son named Jesse. Thank You, Eileen Rogers Mullins
I am trying to locate Cummings WEST who was a son of William N. WEST. In some deeds Cummings is referenced as William C. WEST. Where was Cummings 1840 and 1850? I have checked the census of 1850 that Jason has posted, without finding Cummings. Thanks.

Hi lists, Just wanted to let you know I have a copy of "The Death Roster of the Confederate and Union Soldiers who died at the Gordonsville Receiving and Forwarding Hospital" March 1862-October 1865. If anyone would like me to do a look up just email me the name and the state in which your soldier was from when he joined the Civil War. It does not give any information on the Soldiers records, just whether or not they died there the Company and Regiment, the date they died and from what causes. Anyone that is a County Volunteer please feel free to add the title and that I am willing to do look ups in this book for them. Good luck in your searches! Thanks, Diane. You are doing such a good job. It is good to know there is a new "look up" volunteer. I do check out the Duplin site frequently nowadays and i am amazed at all the good info added since you took over... I am still always looking for DICKSON, BECK, and MOORE connections in Duplin, but alas, I may have to accept that the connection was made after they left Duplin. . Thanks again for all your work on the site. Libby aka Elizabeth DICKSON Golbach
Hi list, Just wanted to let you know there is a new volunteer for look ups posted on the Duplin County web site. She has a great number of books to do look ups in. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncduplin/dlook.htm Please do not send her a general question to look in every book she has, and don't bombard her with more than 2 requests per email so that she has time to look for others questions as well. If she doesn't respond right away give her a couple of days as she is planning a wedding and has other obligations so we don't want to overwhelm her! : ) Don't forget to check out all of the new additions to the Duplin web site and good luck in your searches! In 1794 a Wm. Hightower changed his name to Wm. Hightower Ragsdale. (NC Assembly records) Our ancestors surely did manage to confuse us, didn't they?
Thanks for checking. I know George and John Collins lived in Duplin County in the 1750's and 1760's and I thought they might show as an executor or beneficiary of someone's will, perhaps even a mother who may have remarried.... Thanks again for looking.
