    3. Not a problem for most people! Just delete the posts which have "New Info Posted"....this is the thread concerning the problem a subscriber of the list is having with the URL. There really isn't anything else that has been posted that is newsworthy or new, on this thread, at least...unless it was the correction that evidently has been made regarding a post from another contributor. 1. [NCDUPLIN] Phineas Hardy's will
    2. This message is for Keith Lanier. Would it be possible for you to look up this info about my grandmother's uncle's will? Here is the info: Phineas Hardy in the Duplin County Wills, 1730-1860 book in the Appendix, p. 194: Hardy, Phineas no date - 24 Feb 1897 4-500 Also, where can I find out if Phineas died in a terrible sawmill explosion? This is the story I heard from the family and I am trying to find out if it is true or if it happened to another brother. Thanks for all you do. Helen in California

    3. I use an iMac......but if you are using IE as your browser, that might be your problem!!! Download Firefox or Safari....(I think Firefox is much better and faster). Don't have the URL's in front of me, but you can "google" them. You could also "google" Duplin Co., NC genealogy, and the site referred to in these posts will come up...I just think whatever version of IE you're using is no good!!! Hope this helps!!! 1. [NCDUPLIN] Look up volunteers
    2. Mike & Diane
    3. Hi list, I have seen several queries come through wanting look ups in various books. If you need a look up in a book there are a few look up volunteers posted on the Duplin web site. You can view them here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncduplin/dlook.htm Two of them have a large listing of books that they can do look ups for you in. Although I do ask that you don't send them a huge list to look up for you. One or two at a time would be ideal, that way they won't mind continuing to do the look ups for everyone. They are listed under: Duplin County Published Resources with Lookup Volunteers I hope this helps! 3. Pat, Try typing the URL in yourself. Sometimes when I click on an address in an email it doesn't put the whole address in my browser and tells me the page cannot be found. When I type it myself, I have no trouble getting to the page I want. 2. There was a Rev. John Huffham in Duplin County around 1808 to 1845. Does anyone know his religious affiliation and whether any records survive for his congregation? Thanks. Kay

    3. Diane and Lura, My tools on my IEd for Mac 5.2 do not show the things you mention. Only: Track auction, auction manager, autofill, and show related links. Going through other processes in the preferences for IE, I was able to delete cookies, but could not find anything about "files". I did delete history if that is what you mean, and cleared cache. relating to number 2, I have no internet options. relating to number 3, I was able to go to security in the IE preferences and it was set on medium. relating to number 3, I cannot find where START resides, so cannot do a "disc clean." Now, having done all that, using Lura's URL, it came up "page not found." Going to Diane's email and using the same URL she provided, it still comes up with the same example as I first sent you. Still cannot get to your page! Thanks for your trouble. Pat On Nov 5, 2006, at 7:41 AM, Mike & Diane wrote: > Thanks Lura! 3. Pat, Are you continuing to roll down the page until you can go no further at all? It appears that the page may end where Diane has the "Search" box, but it does not. There is a second section entitled "ATTENTION PLEASE". There is yet another section, It is in this section that each line is a hyperlink to a page that has the information. When you run the mouse across these sentences, you should see the cursor change shape. In Outlook Express mine changes to a hand with one finger pointing upward. Try clicking on these underlined sentences. If nothing happens when you click on those sentences, it may be that your browser is set up to not allow HTML code. This is a choice on either your browser or some security software. In order to take advantage of much of the genealogy material, we must sometimes choose a "Medium" security setting. I hope one of these ideas helps get you to the great material Diane is posting for all of us to use.
