Hi Jim, I descend from Benjamin Duncan 1808-1868 of Columbus County, NC. Most folks believe Benjamin was the son of Dempsey Duncan. Dempsey may have been the son of Elias Duncan. I haven't been able to find a link between Elias and Edmund's family. I first find Elias in the 1790 Brunswick (before Columbus formed) County census. The 1st reference to Elias I can find is 1777 in the Brunswick (today Columbus) county area. Hi all, I have noticed that several of you have sent me emails containing information to add to the Duplin site. I have received them and wanted to let you know I am not ignoring you. I have just come home a couple of hours ago from having a baby girl. She is a tiny thing, weighed 6 pounds 10 oz and we are both doing very well. I had her early Tuesday morning so we are both still recuperating. I will be getting back to each of you that have sent info in to me within the next few days. Please bare with me as it may take me a few days to get things posted to the web site. No need to stop sending them, I will work on them a little at a time, so keep on sending the info! : ) I hope everyone else is doing well and I will let you know what I have posted to the site as I get it transferred over. Hi Jackie.......Yes, I have found it useful, since I didn't want to spend time at the Library going through all the years of their publications!! I had just started doing research, and thought it would give me a head start, so to speak! I don't remember how much it cost, but when you think about the fact that it has those many years' (1975-2000) worth of "news" and you can browse the contents or index to find what interests you, it's worth it to me! The fact that Bob mentioned the issue the article was in, and I could go right to that article, was so nice. The other postings mentioned names of only a few families....the CD enabled me to have access to the complete article!
