    3. Bebe: My recollection is the route between Hillsboro and Chapel Hill in the 40's was via Highway 14 through Calvander and Carrboro. 14 is now called Old 86 and the route via North Columbia, Airport Road, etc did not go through until New 86 was built later, particularly the section from New Hope Church into Hillsborough. My best guess of the route from Hillsborough to Haw River in the 1770s was via the crossing at the ford at Faucette's Mill, then on by The Old Folks Home, The High Rock Road, Cross Roads Church, South to Haw River. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bebe and John Sent: Monday, September 17, 2007 11:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NCDOGS] HAW RIVER IN ORANGE IN 1777 TO HILLSBOROUGH RD??? 3. Thanks, Jim. I am going to have to do some map study...which is great fun, anyway! How would Bruce come to Hillsborough to see your Dad. Sometime I went with him and don't recall going thru Carrboro but I was probably running my young mouth instead of looking out the window!
