Bebe, the Haw River itself doesn't go anywhere close to Hillsborough. Do you mean the town of Haw River? If so, that piece of old US70 from Hillsborough to Haw River follows an old trading path and a Haw River ford very closely, I am told. The old route from Chapel Hill to Hillsborough (now called Old NC86) was originally the Hillsborough to Fayetteville road. The new NC86 (Airport Road extension - past New Hope Presbyterian Church) was formalized in the 1950's, I believe. When are we going to hear something about that book on your Olde Orange families? I want one of the first autographed copies, if possible! - Richard Bebe and John wrote: > What are the CURRENT descriptors of the Haw River to Hillsborough, please.?
