    2. Charlotte, I appreciate your enthusiasm and I'm certain we all know it is genuine, but the ones who really do the work of studying and honoring the generations gone by are those who year after year quietly go about reading, writing, and publishing the carefully gathered facts and stories of Old Orange County. They are rarely the ones who have something to say every time there is an opportunity - they are too busy getting something done! We see a lot of these local experts regularly come to the meetings, listen to the presentations, then go home to get back to work gathering the history. I wish all the "distant D-OGS" could know how many local people work hard year in and year out to make certain that the history of this region and its people is made available to everyone whether near or far. The work of a local genealogical society may not directly impact those who are here to do the actual ferreting out of the facts, but they benefit indirectly in the same way from folks in other regions who are finding the answers to their brick walls in other communities to which they don't have easy access . You are very kind and I wish you every success with getting your folks identified. I know someone will really appreciate your efforts.
