I was going to direct you to the D-OGS web site for the information, but I just looked there to find it hasn't been updated yet, so please don't go by the information there. The December Computer Interest Group (CIG) meeting will be held from 9:00 am 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 15, downstairs in the small conference room at the Chapel Hill Library. Here's a MapQuest map for the location. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?cat=chapel%20hill%20public%20library& formtype=address&addtohistory=&address=%5b100%2d199%5d%20Library%20Dr& city=Chapel%20Hill&state=NC&zipcode=27514&country=US&geodiff=1 We've been cancelled from our room so often I've almost forgotten what we're going to be talking about <G>, but the agenda is fairly long, and there has been enough happening in the genealogical world lately to keep us busy. In a recent posting to the list I said, "When you come, have in mind an ancestor you would like to do some online searching on, and we will put our heads together to use all the tools we know about to compile some information for you. It's the "thousand monkeys and a thousand [sic] computers" theory. Together we probably have a lot of resources that we don't have at our fingertips individually. Bring a name, birth and death dates, locations, any identifying information that will help us search." We'll try to keep it fairly simple to serve as an example that can be copied in other situations. There's still time before Christmas, so if you're contemplating asking Santa for something electronic this year and want to know a little more about it, perhaps someone at the meeting can help you describe why it will be such a plus for your genealogy.
