Harvey, I have been a Mac user for 20 years and bought the first version of the genealogy gedcom software named "Reunion." Reunion is a family- owned and maintained business, now in its ninth version, with as much support as anyone would want, although I have never needed it because the Manual/Help is so thorough. You can import your gedcom files (not "family files") from Family Tree Maker into Reunion. There used to be a PC version of Reunion, created by the same Lester Products; but this was sold many years ago and is now defunct. The only bad thing I've ever heard about Reunion is the sad moanings by the PC folks who can no longer use it. I started out with PAF from the LDS (Latter Day Saints Church), which I don't think is maintained any longer for the Mac. PAF pales by comparison to other software. If you have an Intel Mac, you can have both worlds: the Windows world and the Mac worlds, in which case you can have virtually any software you would like. Please feel free to email me ([email protected]) if you have other questions about Mac genealogy software. You can download a demo version of Reunion from: http://www.leisterpro.com/ Melanie Crain On Aug 19, 2008, at 10:14 AM, Harvey Estes wrote: > We have recently acquired a Macintosh computer, and I need to find a > genealogy software package with a Mac version.
