    3. Hi All, Recently I upgraded my computer security software to Norton Internet Security 2008. Unfortunately, I discovered that this made it impossible for me to get to an original image of anything on Ancestry.com. It took my husband a while, but he figured out how to fix this: In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools Menu, then to Manage Add-Ons, then to Enable or Disable Add-Ons. There will be a list of add-ons, two of which will be Norton Add-Ons. For each of the Norton Add-Ons, select "Disable", click OK, and restart your browser. This turns off the phishing protection and the Norton status indicator will turn to a red X. If you would like to ignore the fact that the phishing checking is turned off, open Norton Internet Security (right click on the yellow Norton signal on the task bar)--> Open the Norton Protection Center --> click on Phishing protection and then click on "ignore". We have sent a complaint in to Norton (Please also do so yourself) and hopefully they will fix this and you can turn your phishing protection back on. Just thought this might be helpful to some of you, as an internet search made it clear that this is driving a lot of genealogists out there nuts! Ava Nackman

    3. Ava, You do not want to turn off your Phishing protection. It is an important part of your anti-virus and firewall protection. Please, please turn your Phishing protection back on immediately. I have had problems with Norton in the past. Norton is notorious for problems. It is an excellent product, but, there can be glitches. I changed my protection from Norton to another well known brand and that one worked fine until an update and then there were problems with that software. It turned out that it was a Microsoft problem and after several days of trying to find the reason for the problem, Microsoft finally was able to fix it. Since that time, I have gone to Microsoft's "Live One Care" Thus far, I have found it to be an excellent product, Microsoft manufactures it to work with their products and quite frankly, my computer has not run so well in a very long time. By turning off your Phishing component of Norton, you have left your computer open for some bad stuff to enter. So, please, please turn it back on. I hope this helps.
