Hello Again, We had planned to vote on the 2011 slate of officers at our D-OGS meeting last Wednesday. For a couple of reasons, this vote has been postponed to our December dinner meeting. First and foremost, we still need people to volunteer to serve as Program Vice President and as Secretary. We can't function without these positions, folks! If planning all those programs and lining up speakers sounds overwhelming, the good news is that over a year's worth of program ideas are already in hand. Your main responsibilities for 2011 will be scheduling these programs, securing the meeting place(s) and reminding the speakers ahead of time. If you're considering being our Secretary, needing to be at all eleven of the note-taking meetings may sound unrealistic. It's OK to call on a substitute. We have several capable and experienced members who could help you out if you needed to be away on a first Wednesday. We do have a volunteer for President - Sue McMurray, one of our newest D-OGS members. We are all delighted and grateful for her willingness to step forward and serve. She does have some health concerns to sort out, however, so we want to give her this extra month to make sure that being President is a realistic commitment.
