This may interest many of you: HISTORY LECTURE: North Carolina's Role in the American Revolution A Lecture by Josh Howard Wednesday, November 10, 7-9 p.m. Josh Howard, revolutionary war specialist and research historian in the Research Branch of the NC Office of Archives and History, will discuss his research on North Carolina's role in the Revolutionary War. Josh Howard is the co-author, along with Dr. Lawrence E. Babits of East Carolina University, of Long, Obstinate, and Bloody: The Battle of Guilford Courthouse, March 15, 1781 (UNC Press, 2009), as well as several other books and articles concerning NC's participation in the conflict. Long, Obstinate, and Bloody was recently honored with the U.S. Army Historical Foundation's Distinguished Writing Award for 2009. After the lecture, Josh Howard will be available for a book signing. Refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Fee: $10/Person, $5/Yates Mill Associates members and college students.
