[Should be PARKES] Wit. W. DANIEL, George RILEY. Prvd by Woodson DANIEL at Aug Ct 1818. 440p. 436 Nov 1814, William Hunter COLE to Lewis BEARD for $50, 50 A on E Side of Yadkin R adj David DANIEL now SKEAN, this grantee and Fredrick SMITH now William BEAN. It was a conveyance from Lewis BEARD to this Grantor [19;181] and is now reconveyed back to BEARD. Wit Charles FISHER, John (x) FARMER. Prvd by FISHER at Feb Ct 1815. One of my ancestors Benjamin DANIEL (brother of David in 2nd deed above) of Rowan states in his Rev. War pension app. that one period of his service was as commisary in the company of Captain William COLE. There is today a Cole Road (just recently paved) that runs near Lick Creek in the southern Davidson Co. village of Healing Springs which I would imagine was named for this family. Mike Daniel
