I too am looking for a John Jones probably Davidson Co., NC born about 1806, who married Obedience Smith. He later moved to Brown, and then Adams Co., IL. Perhaps there is a connection. He was born in early 1800's. Most of the Isaiah Jones descendents moved to Indiana but William did not and the last known resiedence for him is Davidson County. William's grandparents were Isaac & Elizabeth (Cox) Jones from Penn. to Va. to N.C. and they died in Grayson County Virginia. In N.C. they lived in Surry county.
