Salome Lucinda HOLDER was the daughter of John HOLDER (1773-1824) and Maria Salome LANIUS. Her brother John Timothy HOLDER is my ancestor. She born 21 Nov 1823 and died 5 Jul 1886. She married Thomas ROTHROCK on 27 Sep 1845. F Child: Isabella ROTHROCK 1850 Forsyth Co. census p. 210 line 153 Thomas Rothrock 30, labourer Lucinda 25 John 4 Daniel 1 Thomas Rothrock died 16 Aug 1851. Lucinda married John BROWN on 9 May 1857. He is listed in the 1860 census as age 62, so born ca. 1798. In 1860 John and Lucinda are living with Milly Brown age 22, Naman Rothrock age 6 and Isabella Rothrock age 2. Presumably Milly is John's daughter from a previous marriage. Looking back at the 1850 Forsyth Co. census, household 903/917 is as follows: John Brown 49 Matilda 51 Henry 22 Elizabeth 21 David 19 Nathan 16 Milly 13 Sally 12 The ages fit for this to be the same John with daughter Milly. With a name as common as John Brown I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but this could be John Brown and Matilda KNOTT, married 10/4/1825 Stokes Co. NC Can anyone confirm this?
