Married Elizabeth ? in 1828, Elizabeth born Dec 24, 1812 died Dec 24, 1910 2. Henry, b. March 30, 1833, d. Jan 5 1916 3. William, b. 1837, d. 4. Edward Nathaniel, b. 1840, d. April 25, 1901 5. Alsy, b. 1844, d. 6. John Franklin, b. 1848 d. 7. Saul Lived and buried at Broadhead Ky, Son named George 8. Nelson Nothing known According to census records, Joseph was probably born in North Carolina. In 1830 census, Joseph was lining in Burke Co. NC with his wife and son (mistakenly marked as a daughter). In 1840, they are found living in Hawkins Co, Tennessee. In 1850, the entire family is listed as living in Hancock Co. Tenn. Bessie Lovings, a great granddaughter of Joseph, knew Elizabeth. She has stated that Joseph died before coming to Rockcastle Co., Ky, sometime before 1860. She stated Joseph was of Irish decent. According to the 1850 Census records, Elizabeth was born in North Carolina. Bessie Loving has told us that she was of Scottish descent and that she was raised in Tenn. Bessie was told by her mother that Elizabeth was the best woman she ever knew (probably a Christian Woman). Her hair was so long that when she sat on a chair it fell to the ground and lay in a pile. When she died at age 98 her hair was only half gray. Elizabeth was living with her son, Henry, when she died. she is buried in the same cemetary as Henry and Edward Nathaniel, close to Scaffold Cain, Ky.
