Using "The Heritage of Davidson County, North Carolina", copyright 1982, by the Genealogical Society of Davidson County, NC, Articles 568, The John Hill Family and 347, The Disher Family and also the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census of Davidson County, NC we came up with the following. John William Hill is the son of John Hill(b.abt.1805) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Hege(b. abt.1815). John Hill had at least 4 children from an earlier marriage, Hiram, Eliza, Pheobe and Christina. We do not know the name of John Hill's first wife. Elizabeth "Betsy" Hege married (1) Paul Disher on 4 July 1831 in Davidson County, NC. Paul and Betsy had two children, Sarah and Thomas. John Hill and Betsy Hege Disher were married on 25 February 1845 in Davidson County, NC and had the following children: Catharine(b.1846), Elizabeth(b.1848),Fanny(b.1853), Jane(b.1854), John William(b.10 Jan.1855) and Junius Hill(b.19 Nov.1859).
