The 1870 census shows him as 45 and the 1880 shows him as 50. I believe the William that went to SC was chr in 1824, so was born before that date. This man appears to be young. Yet, the naming of his children(Emma, John, Alfred, Mary, Cora, Patty, William H.) goes right along with the family names for this line. Being his wife is so young, he may have taken ten years off his age. (And he only aged five years in ten)
