I have no proof that she is a Kimel, but we all seem to think she is. I was originally told her DOB was in the 1770's, but if she is the only wife of Joseph Essig, then his oldest son John was born in Philadelphia in 1771 and that implies that she was born in the 1750's. Unfortunately, Joseph did not mention her in his Rev. War pension testimony except by referring to her as his family. But Joseph did say he married in Philadelphia or neighborhood (the writing is difficult to read) and shortly after he married he moved to North Carolina. Don't know if this helps in the confusion, but I do thank you for pointing me to Timothy Kimmel's website. I did not know that Joseph had witnessed John George Meyer's will. I will also keep my eyes open for the Meyer and Kimel names along with my Essex/Essig ones. Thanks, Diana
