I am looking for information on Philip Logan. Believe he was born in 1760 in Rowan Co. (now Iredell Co.). He was a Rev. War soldier in the 4th Regiment, North Carolina Line, in Capt. Temple Cole's Co. He served as a fife major (musician), period of service 4/24/1776 thru 11/10/1778, and fought in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown. In 1780 he was on the List of Capt. James Houston's Company - NC Rangers , 5/22/1780 - 6/22/1780 (Tours of Ramsours), per General Index Card #2078 - Philip Logen (Logan), Houston's NC Rangers. In 1781 Philip was in Capt. Davison district, tax 400 pounds 1782-1783, Rowan Co. taxables. Obtained Treasurers and Comptrollers papers from NC state archives. Am seeking any information about Philip that might connect him to my gr gr grandfather (Philip D. Logan, War of 1812 veteran). Have tried marriage records for all of NC and have obtained all the information available in the NC state archives but still have nothing that shows names of a spouse or children or siblings or parents. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Arnold Logan in TX [email protected]
