Surnames: Rotan/Shoaf/Williamson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XSB.2ACE/576.1703.1.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: I'm not sure how I came across this message but I started out searching a Stephen Williamson of Darlington S.C. hoping he was the father to my Lydia Williamson b. 1801. When I hit something up popped James Rotan Jr. husband of Barbara Shoaf. My James Rotan was married to Barbara and then to Emily Hammond. They had a daughter Sarah Blanch who married Levi Patrick Washburn in Jefferson Co. Missouri. Levi was the Grandson of Lydia Williamson b. 1801. Lydia married James Downing May 27, 1820 in or near Lincoln Co. Tennessee. It has been suggested to me that Lydia was from South Carolina. The wife of Stephen was a Lydia. If you have any information on Lydia I would appreciate it and would love to know how James is connected to the name Williamson. I would also like to know anything about the son James of James and Barbara Shoaf Rotan. Thank you, Colleen Rowe
