Hello, I have looking for the name of a daughter of Flora Smith. Flora was the dau. of Alson Smith and Delia Hall Smith listed in Abbotts Creek Forsyth Co in 1880. In 1883 Flora married J. O. Smith. He died in 1899. In the 1900 Davidson Co. census Flora and children are living in Abbotts Creek Davidson Co. The youngest child, age 10 months, appears to be named Zira or Zora. In 1910 Flora is going by the name Belle and is married to Charlie A. Stone and they are living in Abbotts Creek Davidson Co. Zira/Zora is now listed as a step daughter and is 10 years and the name is Eyora. I have spent hours trying to determine the spelling on this child and Zira/Zora and Eyora are what I come up with. Does anyone have a clue to this child name, I did find some Zoras listed so I know that is a real name. Does any Smith researchers descend from a Woman with a name similar. Anyone have any suggestions. Are they even the same child. I have enlarged both names and traced over them and they are driving me crazy!! Any help appreciated. I would really appreciate any more help. I can pay anyone by check, by money order or by cash if someone could go to either of the church cemeteries listed below and snap tombstone pictures for me.. The person that I'm looking for that is buried at this church cemetery is Anna Maria "Marie" Grubb Michael. She was born in 1758 and died on September 19, 1821. She has a tombstone at this church cemetery but I have heard from other researchers of the Grubb family surname that the tombstone is cracked or broken into a couple pieces. She is buried at the Pilgrim-Reformed United Church of Christ Church cemetery in Davidson County, North Carolina. I am also interested in Beulah United Church of Christ Church cemetery as well. George Grubb, Jr. is buried here. He was born June 1761 and died on September 7, 1815 in Davidson County, North Caorlina. He is buried at this church cemetery. I am related to the Grubb family surname from the Davidson County, North Carolina area and surrounding areas. So any help with either of these church cemeteries would be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me, my e-mail address is listed below. Thanks for your time. Michael Pennell Lenoir, NC powerpennell21@yahoo.com

Hi, all, I am new to the list and am seeking information about Alexander M. Davis (b.1844) & his wife, Sarah Matilda Gallimore (b.1846) both from Emmons (Southern Division), Davidson, NC and their ancestors. I have found Alexander in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 US census. In the 1860 census, he is listed with his father Charles (age 58) and mother Nancy (57) along with an Anna whose relationship is not specified. Nancy is found again in 1870, widowed, again living with Anna. Sarah is listed with her husband Alexander in the 1870 and 1880 censes, but I cannot find her as a child with her parents. I cannot recall how I learned her maiden name of Gallimore. Any insight would be helpful. Dave Sigmon _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected? Benjiman is indeed the son of Jacob and Barbara who had come from the Rowan NC area. They later ended up in what is now Pendleton County West Virginia. Benjiman was born about 1765 in this West Virginia area. My information has his wifes name as Mary Catherine Longe ( or Long ). There were three children, but I have misplaced for now their names. Benjiman died when he was 29 and is buried at St. Micheals Lutheran Church near Bridgewater, Rockinghan County Virginia. If you are related to any of the above, then that would make us " shirt-tail" relatives.
