Surnames: Berrier, Grissett, Everhart, Collins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XSB.2ACE/12394 Message Board Post: Seeking information regarding 1930 cenus Lexington, Davidson County. W.H. Berrier(Wade Hampton) and wife Hetha(Hetha Olivia Everhart are listed in Lexington, Davidson County, NC. In the household is a daughter E. Pearl Collins (Etta Pearl Berrier Collins-now deceased) Living next door is a listing for J.J.Grissette(Jackson Judson Grissett) and wife Sula (Sula Berrier Grissett) in this household is a 7 year old daughter listed as Alma R. Collins. Sula Berrier Grissett is a daughter to Wade Hampton & Hetha Berrier. Sula would have been sister to Etta Pearl Berrier Collins that was living with her parents. I do not believe that Alma R. Collins listed as daughter to J.J. Grissett & Sula was actually their daughter (may have been adopted). I believe Alma was a daughter to Sula's sister Etta Pearl Berrier Collins & her divorced husband Corbett Collins. Would like any information regarding Alma R. Collins.

I have four John Wesley Cecil's in my family tree, but none are married to an Ethel Sink, and do not appear to be the right age group. I also have quite a few Sink family members, but no Ethel. Let me tell you up front, I don't have any information for your posting just a weird coincidence. I have a similar posting on other boards looking for my William (NMI) Watkins, b 1821. He is my GGGGrandfather. He just shows up in Missouri in aroung 1840 with no trail as to where he can from. I've tried for years to find a link to his past, parents, siblings, etc, with nothing. For a while I was working the possibility he came via Kentucky, but I could never come up with anything concrete. Good luck from a distant cousin. Mark

My grandfather William Abe Hampton b1885-9 was suppose to be named after his mother Mary Hampton, who never married. Mary was the daughter of a Tom Hampton. He lived on "Star Mountain" in TN. The story goes that he moved from MO to the top of a mountain in TN right before "Lincoln's War" to get away from the war. However, the story might not be true and he could have been in TN for some period prior to that. do any of your records show a Thomas Hampton probably born in the 1830's-40's? that has a daughter Mary? Any dates, relatives names and info would be helpful. Thank You. HHampton
