    1. [NCDAVIDS] Thomas Family of Davidson Co.
    2. I am searching for the parents of Nicholas, Jane, and Jeremiah Thomas. They were all born in Maryland and moved to what is now Davidson Co., NC. Nicholas was born in 1794, Jane was born in 1792, and Jeremiah was born in 1896. Nicholas married Mary "Polly" Morris on Oct 28, 1812, Jane married Aaron Morris on Jan. 18, Nov 1823, brother to Mary "Polly" Morris, and Jeremiah married her sister, Dorcus Morris, on April 14, 1818. I am searching for descendants of William Thomas who was born Jan 1768 and died on July 11, 1840 or 1846 (dates on tomb stone not clear). He was buried in Row 9, Grave 9 at Old Vernon Methodist Church in Davidson County. He may be the father of the above Thomas children as he is buried next to the daughter of Nicholas and Mary "Polly" Morris, but as yet, I have no proof. He also owned 40 acres of land in what is now Davidson Co. (formerly Old Rowan) that I have not found any distribution to his heirs. Any help on any of the above would be most appreciated. Mary Thomas

    3. Hi Bonnie Just a note for your Berrier research.....The original "Berrier" name was Barrier. This can be seen on early deeds (see Rowan Co usgenweb-deed for Charles Barrier and wife Yunes (Eunice). Second wife was Johanna- see Will. Also, presently in the Old Pilgrim Church cemetery you can still clearly read "Jorge Barier" on tombstone. The 1759 tax record for Charles is "Bearyer". 1. [NCDAVIDS] Nancy Kathryn VARNER/1822-1890
    2. Debbie Jennings
    3. I am searching for info regarding the parents of Nancy Kathryn VARNER. Nancy was born 9-10-1822 in Davidson county NC and married Calvin SECREST 8-14-1842 in Davidson county NC. They migrated to Morgan county IN about 1845 and remained there until their deaths and are buried there. Nancy died 8-16-1890 and Calvin died 1-28-1881. I had in the past received some info regarding the VARNER line and it was quite extensive but there was some doubt by the sender that it was the correct line. I am hoping that someone has this Nancy VARNER in their files and we can make a connection. ===== Debra Jennings [email protected] "Following the footprints through time" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Posted on: Davidson County, NCGenWeb Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Davidson/1601 Surname: COOPER, STEVENS, STEPHENS ------------------------- Does anyone know where I could find church records 1750-1850 regarding births, marriages and deaths of Davidson County residents? I am particularly trying to find the marriage record of a Drusellah/Drusilla STEVENS/STEPHENS to a -----COOPER ca. 1805-1810. She was the daughter of John and Mary STEVENS/STEPHENS, and had a son William S. Cooper born 1810, based upon her fathers will and his Family Bible Records. I realize the couple could have been wed in churches or by pastors in the area from which Sampson Co. was made or the surrounding counties. The marriage could have been performed by one of the Rev. COOPERs, Fleet or William, or by Rev. Edward Brown, as it appears that the Mr. Cooper in question was related to the Rev. Coopers and Miss Stevens/Stephens was related to Rev. Brown. Best Regards, Gary

    1. [NCDAVIDS] Re: Marriage(s) of Gotfried/Godfrey RATZ 1769-1780
    2. Dick Carter
    3. Seeking name of first wife of Godfrey Ratz, born 4-22-1743,Possibly in Germany, immigrated 1751 and Married about 1769, per a number of Genealogies, to an unknown woman... Later married Maria Margaretha Elizabetha Schweissguth, in perhaps Philadelphia Co., or York Co., Pa.,or N.C., about 1780 ... need date and location. Many genealogies state that he was married only once, to Miss Schweissguth,in 1769, and I have been ridiculed and "poophooed",by more learned persons than myself, about my contention that there may have been an earlier marriage. BUT, no one has been able to come up with a marriage record for the Marriage of Gotfried Ratz and Miss Schweissguth. I would think that a couple as influential as Mr Ratz, and Miss Schweisguth, would leave a marriage record, since they both were apparently devout churchgoers. I would also think, that these naysayers would be able to back up their ridicule with a marriage document, or church record of such a marriage. Is there anyone out there who has a marriage record for this couple, or a marriage record for Godfried/Godfrey Ratz to someone else? Any help appreciated... Dick Carter [email protected]
