I didn't have Mary and Chrissie nor any details on Elizabeth. If anyone has further info to concretely tie them to John and Susanna I would be most grateful for your input. I notice the birth dates for Chrissie and John are too close.

He married Susanna Hinkle who was born 2 Nov 1786 -1870.They were married Oct 1804. I have two Shoaf lines: one descends through Mary Shoaf born in 1806 and married Andrew Myers on 15 Mar 1825 and the other through Elizabeth Shoaf born 1810 and married Britten Warner on 7 Dec 1830 I think that these are sisters and children of John Jacob and Susanna Hinkle Shoaf. Mary Shoaf 1806 Elizabeth Shoaf 1810 In addition I have: John Jacob Shoaf Jr born 1 Nov 1811 Alexander Shoaf 1815 samuel Shoaf 1817 barbara Shoaf 1820 Chrissy Shoaf born 15 Oct 1824 marr John Leonard John 1825 Fanny Shoaf born Oct 1828 marr David Livengood I think there are 12 children

Posted on: Davidson County, NCGenWeb Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Davidson/1822 Surname: Motsinger, Livengood, Shoaf, Scott, Smith, Spach, Foltz ------------------------- Hi Carol, I think I earlier posted Johann Heinrich Schaaf, Sr's dates incorrectly. After reviewing my Shoaf file and a picture of his grave marker, I realized I should have indicated b:1739, d:1807 vs 1733-1805. The dates I first showed came from a document by Ross T. Shoaf, dated Apr 1978, but they conflict with the monument in Bulah UCC Cem in Davidson Co, NC. There is reason to think that neither date can be absolutely proven because of the several conflicts. Addressing your questions, I have the following (in some cases unverified)info in my file. There are some differences from what you show, and I can't offer the solution, but believe the info to be generally correct. I show: Ch of John Henry, Jr and Anna Christena Sink: John Jacob (*1783-bef 1860), m:Susanna Hinkle on Oct 4, 1804 (from early Rowan Co Mar Rec); George Henry (1785- ), m:Christina Livengood (c1785- )(dau of Christian Livengood, Sr, my ggg gf); John (1788- ), m:Mary Frances Brinkley (c1794-1833) on Jul 23, 1812 src;Rowan Co m/r; John Henry, III, (1792-1881), m:Elizabeth Berrier (1788-1863). Note that JH, III was b: 4 1/2 m after death of JH, Jr. After Anna Christena (Christianna) married. Ch by Anna Christena and Christian Shoaf, Sr were:Maria Barbara (1784-1859) m:Matthias Hinkle, Sr, s/o Casper Hinkle and Tonia Robertson, and bro to Susanna, above; David (1797-1849) m:Susannah Livengood, believer to be d/o Michael Livengood, s/o Christian, Sr; Christina (1800- )(my gg-gm), m: Christian Livengood, III (1801-1849)(my gg-gf); Christian, Jr (c1805-1866), m:Polly Hege (1808-1856) in 1828. Ch of John Jacob and Susanna Hinkle:Suggest we both review the bidding here, because I have a different dob and a total of 12 ch, 5 sons and 7 dau. A review of the various census' wil give this approx count, I think. Of course, I could be in error. I do not yet have all the ch of this couple documented, what I have is: John Jacob, Jr (1811- ), m:Barbara Elizabeth Brinkley (1817-c1860) on Jan 1 1833; Alexander (1815- ), m:Elizabeth Wadsworth on Sep 23, 1839; Samuel Shoaf (1817-1860), m:Elizabeth Powell on Dec 12, 1839; Barbara Shoaf (1820- ), m:James Rotan on May 26, 1840; John (Mar 1825- ); Fanny Shoaf (1828-1907), m:David Livengood (my gg-gr uncle) (1830-1906) on Oct 17, 1848, who moved to TX in 1873 (I have their photo); Eliza/Elizabeth (1830- ). I also have no record of Fannie, d/o Christian Shoaf, Sr and Anna Christena. I was startled by the number of times that I am related to the Shoafs. Any corrections to the above would be welcomed.

    3. Posted on: Davidson County, NCGenWeb Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Davidson/1811 Surname: ------------------------- Hi Wade, I checked all my sources on this Frank Shoaf and I show no mention of another name such as John or George. However, the birth dates do match up. Another mystery !! The Frank I have on file had parents of Christian Shoaf, Jr and Polly Hege. Christian Shoaf, Jr parents are Christian Shoaf, Sr(July 28, 1770-December 22, 1826) and Christianna Sink(Zink)(1762-September 29, 1843) And, then I have John Henry Shoaf who migrated to Rowan County, now Davidson, in 1765 with his wife Anne Sprecher Shoaf. John Henry(1739-1807) purchased 540 acres of land in what is today Davidson County. This John Henry had 4 sons, but I don't have all his son's children. We need children of the following; John Henry, Jr(born-November 25, 1764-died-1791) married Christina Sink(Zink). He died at the age of 27;(any children from this marriage) and Christina married his brother Christian. (John) Jacob(born-October 23, 1776)married Susanna Hinkle. Children:John Jacob, Jr; only son; married Elizabeth Brinkley(1785-?) children??? ------------------------------------------------------------ There was also a reply regarding Fannie(dau of Christian Shoaf, Sr and Christina Sink earlier this month. I checked my files and show no marriage record for this Fannie. It's very possible that she died before maturity. ------------------------------------------------------------ Anyone who can add to this family line, I would greatly appreciate it !! Best Of Luck, Carol

All three families lived near the present day Forsyth/Davidson County line. Many of the family members were Moravians (at least originally). Descendants of these families heavily intermarried into LONG families. Does someone have a large amount of LONG family info? Can you help me figure out some of these families? 1. George GRIMES Sr. (1787-1870) married Rosanna LONG (1784-1865) in North Carolina and they moved to Fountain County, Indiana in about 1833 where they are buried at the Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery, at Wallace, Fountain County, Indiana. I have a listing of their seven (eight?) children and quite a bit of information on their descendants. 2. Susanna GRIMES (1788-1855) (sister of George GRIMES Sr. above) married John LONG (1782-1857), brother of Rosanna LONG who married George GRIMES Sr. (i.e. brothers and sisters married each other). Susanna and John are buried at the Bethany United Church of Christ Cemetery, near Wallburg, Davidson County, North Carolina. John (and his sister Rosanna LONG GRIMES) were children of Thomas LONG (1752-1797) and Cadrina (Catherine) HEGE (1752-1828). Susanna and John LONG were the parents of 11 known children: 2a. Thomas LONG Jr. (1818-1898) (Rev.) married 1st) Elizabeth Ferguson (1816-1854) and then 2nd) Amanda BERRIER (1839-1897) in 1861. Thomas Jr. and Amanda are buried at the Hebron United Church of Christ Cemetery and ELIZABETH is buried at the Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery. Elizabeth and George were the parents of five FRITTS children while Elizabeth and John were the parents of five CORNELISON children (nothing known about them, HELP!). George was the son of John FRITTS (1780-1841) and Rebecca YOUNTS (1785- after 1850). 5d. Sophrona E. LONG (1819-1858) married John H. DARR (1823-1859) and are buried (along with their two children that died young) at the Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery in Davidson Co., NC. 5e. James LONG (1826-1858) is buried at the Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery at Davidson Co., NC. I have seen this child listed as John Henry LONG (1826-???) who married Fanny CAUBLE (1831-1907). Is this correct? 5f. Amanda J. LONG (c1830-1859) married Reuben SMITH (1813-1857) in 1852 at Davidson Co., NC where they are buried at the Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery. Reuben had previously been married to Amanda's elder sister, Nancy LONG SMITH. Amanda and Reuben were the parents of two children: William Henry SMITH (1853-1921) and Bernetta E.
