Hello Marvin Many Leonards have married into my Barrier/Berrier and Grimes family so I have a bit on Leonard.I am doing a cut and paste and hope this all comes thru. I have excerpts from the book and I have verified that a Valentine Leonard family was on the Neptune..according to shipping records authored by Strass. (Can someone help me out on the name of the three volumes?..I am having a senior moment.) John Paul "Valentine" Leonard b 13 Oct 1718 Bapt: 23 Oct 1718 Reformed Church Kazenbach Germany by Rev Gotthard Stein. Valentine was the son of Martin Leonard.Sponsors: John Paul Neuss and wife Anna Ottilia. Valentine Leonard d 13 Nov 1781 Rowan Co, NC m Elizabeth Wallacher b abt 1747 Northampton Co, PA d Davidson Co, NC. Valentine came to America on the ship Neptune from Rotterdam, Holland, 35 Oct 1746 with Thomas Wilkinson, Master. Removed to NC abt 1754. ( As I recall, the above follows the book you mentioned) However, Leonard researcher, Ray Haupt believes from his research that Valentine Leonard was the son of Michael Leonard. He mentions that the 1733 Easter Sunday confirmation records of the Rockenhausen Reformierte Lutheran Kirche refutes that Valentine was the son of Martin Leonard. Ray also found in the same 1733 confirmation class a record of Elizabetha Wallacher d/o Barnhardt Wallacher and Maria Margaretha Lamp Wallacher...Valentine's future wife. Eliz Wallacher was bapt June 2, 1718 in Obendorf..age 13, 11 months. http://www.geocities.com:80/Hearland/Lake/3234/MichaelLeonhardt.html Hope this helps Stephanie Marvin Leonard wrote: > > Posted on: Davidson County, NCGenWeb Query Forum > Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Davidson/11840 > > Surname: Jacob Calvin Leonard, Valentine Leonard > ------------------------- > > I am trying to locate a copy of "The Centennial History of Davidson County, > North Carolina" written by Jacob Calvin Leonard. Posted on: Davidson County, NCGenWeb Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Davidson/11832 Surname: Hill, Shoaf, Spach, Livengood ------------------------- Our primary Hill research is the descendants of Sarah Jane Hill, the daughter of Jesse Hill and his second wife, Catharina Spach. Using "The Heritage of Davidson County, North Carolina", copyright 1982, by the Genealogical Society of Davidson County, NC, Articles 568, The John Hill Family and 347, The Disher Family and also the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census of Davidson County, NC we came up with the following. John William Hill is the son of John Hill(b.abt.1805) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Hege(b. abt.1815). John Hill had at least 4 children from an earlier marriage, Hiram, Eliza, Pheobe and Christina. We do not know the name of John Hill's first wife. Elizabeth "Betsy" Hege married (1) Paul Disher on 4 July 1831 in Davidson County, NC. Paul and Betsy had two children, Sarah and Thomas. John Hill and Betsy Hege Disher were married on 25 February 1845 in Davidson County, NC and had the following children: Catharine(b.1846), Elizabeth(b.1848),Fanny(b.1853), Jane(b.1854), John William(b.10 Jan.1855) and Junius Hill(b.19 Nov.1859). We hope that this helps you. If you have any corrections, comments or questions, e-mail us.

Posted on: Davidson County, NCGenWeb Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/NC/Davidson/11826 Surname: Holloways ------------------------- Holloways Baptist Church is one of the older churches in Silver Hill twp. of Davidson Co., NC. There are many unmarked graves at Holloways and the church does not have records documenting who is buried where prior to the 1980s, yet flowers are currently placed on several grave sites, indicating there are still those who have knowledge of many buried in the cemetery. Some markers only have initials and/or years. Some family names no longer exist in the area. In process is the documenting of each marker in the cemetery which will, when complete, be uploaded to the Davidson Co. website in order to preserve the heritage of those who lived before. Please contact me if you have information to share concerning any of those buried at Holloways--complete names, parents, family ties, dates, unmarked grave information, etc. This is a large cemetery & any additional info for this project would be appreciated. --- i.e., Marker currently reads: Frank Owen, 1866 - 1934 Frank was my great-grandfather, so I have expanded his to read: [David] Frank[lin] Owen, [9 Jul] 1866 - [13 Nov] 1934 [s/o David & Crissie Styers Owen] --- i.e., Unmarked Graves: -Myrtle & Pearl OWEN, daus. of David Franklin & Crissie Beanblossom OWEN who died young per Frankie Wall Owen & Crissie's obit. {Belinda Owen Rodgers, 2001} Thanks, Belinda Owen Rodgers [email protected]
