    1. Re: [NCCURRIT] Woodhouse and Poyner families
    2. Dear Mr. Schroeder, I never said the two volumes on Currituck County constituted any type of proof, though I am sure there is information in them that can be taken as gospel. The old saying goes, "you can't believe everything you hear and only half of what you read". The books are, however; sources of information that can be helpful, and they should not be ignored as at least a starting place. Mr. Schroeder, I am sure that your credentials are impeccable, but be reminded that your are not likely to find absolute proof for "every" item your are researching. If the Roy you refer to is Mr. Roy Sawyer, he is probably one of the best sources of information on these families. He has corresponded with my brother, Ed, several times in the past on the Poyners, I believe. I am not a genealogist. Within my limited knowledge, I was just trying to give Mr. Seibel somewhere to start if he was not aware of the two Currituck County histories. v/r Randy L. 3. It's a shame how the meaning of an email can be misconstrued when only part of an exchange is visible. I had been having a private exchange about a specific individual with Mr. Seibel. When I responded the last time I did not realize the message was going to the list, it was intended only for Mr. Seibel. This time I have replied to all and I am sorry for any misunderstanding. The two books are a good source of information, I have both, but my comment about them not being a source of proof is accurate. I am well aware that "proof" can not be found for everything. If it could then I wouldn't have dead-ends. The fact that proof hasn't been found does not end a quest. ----- Original Message ----- From: <rlmerrell@roadrunner.com> To: <nccurrit@rootsweb.com>; <sseibel@esinc.cc> Cc: "Schroeder" <jfstms@bellsouth.net>; "emerrell2: yahoo.com" <emerrell2@yahoo.com> Sent: Sunday, March 15, 2009 2:54 AM Subject: Re: [NCCURRIT] Woodhouse and Poyner families > Dear Mr. Schroeder, > > I never said the two volumes on Currituck County constituted any type of > proof, though I am sure there is information in them that can be taken as > gospel.
